About the Speaker
Hairong Feng is professor of communication at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Feng’s research interests include supportive communication across cultures, politeness across cultures, and intercultural competence. Her publications have appeared in major communication journals, books, and encyclopedias, and she has received top-paper awards in her professional fields. Feng served as president for the Association for Chinese Communication Studies from 2014 to 2015 and faculty advisor for the Chinese Students and Scholars Association at UMD from 2016 to 2022. She currently serves as the associate head of the communication department at UMD.
