The Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce is conducting a Trade Mission and Familiarization Tour to China departing on March 20, 2009. As the first Minnesota Chamber to lead a group to China, the Eden Prairie Chamber will be conducting an orientation program for anyone interested in participating on Oct. 23. This program will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn in Eden Prairie.
The nine-day trip includes visits to Beijing, Shanghai, Souzhou and Hangzhou. An alternate two-day itinerary will include a visit to Loudi, China – a city with whom Eden Prairie already has a strategic community partnership. Previous Chinese delegations from Loudi have visited Eden Prairie, Loudi students visited Eden Prairie this past summer and the former Mayor of Eden Prairie has visited Loudi.
The China tour package includes round trip airfare from Seattle, 4-5 star hotel accommodations in China, three meals per day, pre-arranged business meetings, ground transportation, English speaking tour guides, admission to all tourist spots and all taxes. Attractions on the itinerary include the Great Wall, Tian An Men Square, Tiger Hill and more. An optional trip to Xi'an to see the Terra Cotta Warriors is available. In addition, the Eden Prairie Chamber has partnered with the Bremerton Chamber of Commerce located just outside Seattle. Before the Chambers travel to China together, they will be offering an additional networking reception in Seattle. Participants will be able to meet leaders from the Bremerton/Seattle area, make business connections and can take in the sites in Seattle.
"We are very pleased to announce our trip to China for metro business leaders and residents alike," stated Pat MulQueeny, President of the Chamber. "We have been working on initiatives around international trade and partners like the Bremerton Chamber who can provide additional opportunities for our area businesses. To be able to organize this trip right after we got a snapshot of China during the Olympics is fantastic, the timing couldn't be any better."
The all-inclusive price is just US$1,899 per person, double occupancy. A US$100 discount per person is available for those paying by cash or check. The optional visit to Loudi is available for an additional US$750 per person. The visa fee to visit China is additional.
