The theme of the 2009 Minhua-MCA Chinese Culture Camp is Colorful China: its ethnic groups, folk cultures, arts and literature.  Children can learn Chinese, “visit” China, “meet” people there and “experience” the beauty of Chinese folk cultures, arts and literature. They can also earn Chinese “money” by speaking Chinese, and use the Chinese “money” at the camp store. The theme of the 2009 Minhua-MCA Chinese Culture Camp is Colorful China: its ethnic groups, folk cultures, arts and literature.  Children can learn Chinese, “visit” China, “meet” people there and “experience” the beauty of Chinese folk cultures, arts and literature. They can also earn Chinese “money” by speaking Chinese, and use the Chinese “money” at the camp store.

Participants will learn about Chinese water-color painting, Chinese paper-cut/Peking Opera mask making, handcrafts, Chinese flute music, abacus, KungFu, outdoor exercises, games, Chinese dramas, songs, and more.

The Chinese Language Culture Camp is July 20– 24, 2009 at Macalester College of St. Paul.  This camp is for children ages 6 – 13 (completed kindergarten through Grade 6).  The fee for day camp only is US$170 – Tuition: US$160 + US$10 Registration Fee.  The fee for day camp with after care is US$200– Tuition: US$190 + US$10 Registration Fee.  The registration deadline is April 15.  Registration requires a US$50 non-refundable deposit and full tuition is due by May 15.
