The 26th Anniversary Banquet of the Chinese Senior Citizens Society (CSCS) was held recently at the Peking Garden Restaurant in St. Paul and was attended by a sellout crowd of over 240 people which caused some minor problems with registration and getting everyone seated.  Unfortunately poor acoustics also made it difficult for those in attendance to hear very much but eventually Sunthi Paul who attempted to serve as the MC for the evening eventually was able to get the gathering to settle down and the program under way.

The 26th Anniversary Banquet of the Chinese Senior Citizens Society (CSCS) was held recently at the Peking Garden Restaurant in St. Paul and was attended by a sellout crowd of over 240 people which caused some minor problems with registration and getting everyone seated.  Unfortunately poor acoustics also made it difficult for those in attendance to hear very much but eventually Sunthi Paul who attempted to serve as the MC for the evening eventually was able to get the gathering to settle down and the program under way.

The first item on the program was a report by Jennie Hsiao, President of CSCS and then was followed with the introduction of the 2012 CSCS Board of Directors.

The 2011 Model Senior Citizen Award was then presented to Pearl Wong and the 2011 Mulan Award was presented to Christine Ha Chan.

Helen Fong, CSCS Vice President, then presented special long-time service awards to former CSCS board members, Ming Tchou and Pearl Bergad with the 2011 CSCS Life Time Awards.

Quickly following the program, dinner service began as the gathering was treated to some opera that included professionals as well as an open mike for those that chose to entertain the group.  As the opera singing continued in the background challenging the sense of hearing, a scrumptious 10 course meal was being served that definitely amply satisfied the other senses of taste, sight and smell.

The evening ended with the drawing of many door prizes provided by CSCS and many other generous donors and supporters.
