Description of Program: Each year, the incoming Kindergarten class begins the study of Chinese (and alternately Spanish the following year) until 4th grade. Each class consists of 10 students and receives language instruction for 30 minutes every other day. The curriculum is a combination of TPR, language preparation, conversational Chinese, a little writing and culture.

Description of Program: Breck has a K-12 13-year coordinated Mandarin program. By the Upper School (9-12) students are using a college text. Every year juniors go on a 16-day China Study Tour in May.
